Survivors in Afghanistan Need Immediate Help - 56 Soldiers Lost EVERYTHING
This is legit. This unit is the unit of a friend of mine's husband (that was an awkward sentence). You can read the news story HERE. The entire FOB was destroyed.
Tammy's husband has a first-hand account HERE.
And yes, the Army will cover the basics but the personal items are mostly up to the individual soldiers to take care of - just as it is when they head into theatre. Add to that the fact that these guys just lost eight of their own in one moment and you can imagine how difficult this is for them. To have the support of those of us back here will be a huge morale boost for them.
So please consider sending in a few items. TankerBabe is heading up the coordination and you can email her for a mailing address. The list of what is needed is on the blog post. My kids are currently drawing pictures and writing notes to the guys as well.
Every little bit helps. Thanks.

The Army is working to replace uniforms for the men. But they need assistance with other personal items. And they NEED TO KNOW that we are thinking about them over...

I tell you what... when I read a similar blog entry about this (I posted a link on FaceBook) I had to fight a frenzied feeling of "GET STUFF NOW". We may be making a trip to the store after dinner.

You can't do anything about the length of your life, but you can do something about its width and depth.

i think families of the Fallen are first and foremost in my thoughts and prayers. May God give them strength and comfort as they prepare to lay their loved ones to rest and may they always know that there are many of us out here who will ALWAYS remember their sons brothers fathers and husbands.

The answer for all of them and for you and it was the answer for me too and is Jesus Christ. You need the right relationship and not just one in words but a real relationship. We were all born into a sinful world and we are all sinners who are sentenced to death by a just and holy God..................

I am sorry that you think I am seated on a holier than thou high horse. It makes me wonder if you really read much of my site. I don't think I am holier than you. The reason I posted the suicide help page on my site was because there was a time in my life when I too thought that was the way out of the pain...........

Human Rights Watch interviewed residents of al-Samuni Road, an east-west road in the southern part of Zeytoun, and residents of a part of Road 10, another east-west road further to the north. Prior to the war, residential buildings lined sections of both roads, which link agricultural areas in Zeytoun to Salahaddin Road.

Every one admits that our life seems to be very expensive, nevertheless some people need cash for different things and not every man gets big sums cash. Therefore to get some credit loans and term loan will be a correct solution.
